The first question on everyone’s mind is – What are Google Vehicle Ads?
This paid search ad format (PPC) puts your vehicles directly into Google search results and in front of the most qualified buyers. These style ads include your vehicle images & link back to the specific vehicle within your website.
When will Google Ads be open to UK Car Dealers?
At the Car Dealer Live Event on 7th March 2024, Google announced that it is currently in closed beta testing and will be opening it up to all UK car dealers in the coming months. Currently there is no exact date, but soon you will be able to create an account within Auto.Social & have full access to your inventory feed, help & tips & also the option for Auto.Social to fully setup & manage your Google Vehicle Ads ready for when it is open to UK.
How do I get started with Google Vehicle Ads?
While waiting for Google to launch vehicle ads, you’re still able to start getting everything ready ahead of time, so that when it goes live, you’re ready to go.
By Partnering with Auto.Social, you will have the option to set up your Google Vehicles ads yourself with the Google inventory feed they’ve prepared, or if you prefer, you can use their fully managed service in which all the below steps will be taken care of.
Google has a 7 step system for setting up & creating your Vehicle Ads
Step 1: Set up your accounts
You will require a Google Business Profile, Google Merchant Account & Google Ads account
Step 2: Enable Vehicle Ads Program
This step is not yet live, but when Google Vehicle ads is open to UK car dealers, you will submit your dealership information to Google for approval (This usually takes a couple of days to be approved)
Step 3: Add your business information
You will need to input your business details along with verifying your phone number & also claiming ownership of your website. (Google will provide a HTML Tag to input into your website's header section)
Step 4: Create your vehicle inventory feed
Auto.Social have already created a system to convert your current vehicle feed into the feed spec that Google requires for Vehicle Ads.

Step 5: Linking all your accounts
You will need to link your Google Business Profile to your Google Merchant Account and then your Google Merchant account to your Google Ads account.
Step 6: Website Policy Review
You will need to submit your website for review to Google. This is so they can make sure it meets their requirements. Once submitted this usually takes a couple of days to be reviewed.
Step 7: Enable Vehicle ads in your Performance Max Campaign
Once all the above steps are complete, it’s now time to create your Google Vehicle Ads, set up your bid & budget & publish your Performance Max Vehicle Ad campaigns.
